Port Information
Puerto de la Duquesa is the Costa del Sol's best kept secret and is within an easy drive of both Malaga (50 min) and Gibraltar (30 min) Airports.The European Blue flag awarded beaches lay either side of the marina which are both clean and un-crowded and is the perfect location to relax and soak up the suns rays whilst dipping your feet into the blue Mediterranean sea.
The beach has a shallow rim which is safe for children to enjoy, but the sea temperature is a little cooler than you would expect, but it is still refreshing way to cool down from heat of the day.
Scattered along the length of the beach are numerous "Spanish" Beach Bars serving freshly caught fish and shellfish along with Spain's favourite dish Paella. In summer the bars are open every day from 10am until midnight.
After a day on the beach take an evening stroll down to the marina were there is wide choice of restaurants to choose from; Italian, French, Chinese, Indian, Thai, English and of course Spanish.
The marina boasts numerous bars and cafes were you can sit and relax with a coffee or a cold beer and chat with friends. The port offers a perfect evening's backdrop, with the lights shimmering across the water as you watch the boats gently bob up and down in the port, there is no better place to be on the Costa's.
The towns of Sabinellis and Castillo are both within a 10 minute walk away. Sabinallis being the larger town has a host of shops and supermarkets along with Banks a post office and petrol station and of course a good selection of bars and restaurants. The town is mostly Spanish speaking so don't forget the phrase book.
